hiding and fever, has he had his shots? Hope so, even then somethings CAN affect a dog. A vet is in order, ASAP. When sociable dogs hide it usually means they are pretty sick.
Maybe your instincts are right he is sick. Most people would agree you should take the dog to the vet after signs of sickness so he does not get worse. Treating symtoms early on is good.

I not really sure what could be da matter wif your puppy. I was fixin to say that he might have arthritis in his leg but you say he having problem breathing I would take him to da doctor and see maybe he got a cold or sumfin. I don't know- I just wanna help..I hope he be alwright
