Sneezing When Excited

Toby smiles when he's happy but sometimes (i.e. when my husband comes home from work) he smiles so hard he opens his mouth and sneezes. He does this until he calms eventually calms down. I am sure that it isn't illness but I am wondering if you think he is smiling so hard that he makes himself sneeze. He does use his whole face to smile.

My dog does this also, he will smile and sneeze when he gets super excited. I am not sure what causes it exactly. I ended up using the clicker and putting the sneeze on command...still working on the smile part on command. I would say nothing much to worry about

yes, my dog does that alot when excited.
I think their breathing increases then the moisture drips back and that causes the sneezing. My boston does that.
