Normally, if a sling type loop is used during grooming it is only for protection to prevent the dog from jumping off the table and should not be suspending the dog off the table at all. It should be set so that the dog can stand normally on the table with all four feet touching the table and supporting the dog's weight.
If your dog is being hung by the loop I would strongly suggest you find another groomer!!!
