Poor thing! I personally love to use PETfection Eye Wash & Cleaner for any eye issues. It is 100% Organic and Non Toxic and is excellent at getting rid of the gunk and clearing up infections. It will also soothe his eye & lid if it is itchy or red. It is very gentle and definitely safe to use (no chemicals in it). I highly recommend it! Hope this helps, best of luck.

It is extremely unlikely that your dog has a cold in only one eye. It could be many things, including a scratch on the cornea which will lead to blindness if not treated immediately by your veterinarian.
Even a simple eye infection if not treated with the proper antibiotic can result in blindness.
There is no way I would ever fool around with home treatments for something as serious and as delicate as an eye, whether it be myself OR my dog. Your dog only has two eyes and the loss of his eyesight can cause major problems. Furthermore, eye issues are extremely painful and you owe it to your dog to get a professional opinion and not just use an over the counter product that may even make the condition worse.
