Shih Tzu won't poop in our yard... please help!

We just adopted a two year old Shih Tzu ,Kobe, who so far has been amazing!! The only problem is that he will not poop in our yard. On the very first day we got him, he did his business in our yard, but ever since we start taking him for walks around the neighborhood he will only poop/pee during the walk - not when we're in our yard. The problem with this routine is that my neighbors will start to get fed up with us very quickly if our dog only pees/poops in their yards. His business will burn their grass and will not make for a good situation. We want him to do his business in a specific spot in our yard and then we will take him for a walk. So far we've waited with him in our yard for 30min intervals and constantly repeat "get busy"... but nothing happens. He refuses to go unless we are on the walk.

What should we do?? Thanks!!

What I would do it take some of his poo and put it in the spot you want him to go in, leave it there let the dog sniff it that will give him the urg to go don't pick it up for a few days till he gets used to the spot, them praise him a lot.
