Puppy nibbles my ears and howls?

This is more curiosity than an issue. My roommates little shih tzu cross pup likes to climb on me when I'm lying on the couch and will lick and nibble my ears. When I start laughing (because I'm highly ticklish) she'll howl in response. What is this all about?

It sounds like the pup has found a playmate. If the pup gets a reaction that it thinks is play it will continue to "Play". I am "follically impaired" (bald), my male dog loves to lick the top of my head. I know he thinks it is play and has a great time doing it. He only does it when I am down at his level. It also could be a cologne or lotion that you use. My female dog loves to lick my hands when I use hand lotion. I think this dog sees you as a playmate.
