Well she could have destemper or parvo, so take her to the vet immediately. Also, your dog was given to you too young. A puppy shouldn't leave it's mother until it's 8 weeks old..it's six weeks now and you said you had it for a week already? 5 weeks old is way too young of a puppy, please look into good detail if you get a dog from a breeder-it's probably sick

It's not necessarily normal, but it isn't completely abnormal, either. Puppies (and adult dogs, too) can get diarrhea due to a huge variety of reasons, such as having been rehomed to a new family, a switch in food, a change in daily schedule, having eaten something out of the ordinary, having recently had shots, or having one of many parasites or diseases common in pet dogs. Whenever you have a puppy with diarrhea, you really do want to be very careful and address it immediately since puppies can quickly become dehydrated which can kill them. If you're a first time owner, I would take the puppy to the vet for a thorough exam and also advice on how to keep puppy hydrated. Your vet can show you what to do. Also, where did you get the puppy? You should know that no reputable breeder would ever sell you a puppy at only 6 weeks old, and in most places it is actually illegal to separate pups from their litter before 8 to 9 weeks old!

PUPPY DIARRHEA CAN LEAD TO DEHYDRATION VERY QUICKLY. SHE NEEDS TO SEE THE VET ASAP, AND IF YOU CAN GET TO ONE QUICKLY, THEN GET SOME PEDI-LYTE (FOUND IN BABY SECTION AT WALMART) (AND THEIR BRAND IS FINE TOO-PARENTS CHOICE)GET THE NON FLAVORED KIND AND GIVE THIS TO HER. IT WILL HELP ADD SOME ELECTROLYES BACK TO HER SYSTEM. GOOD LUCK AND LET US KNOW HOW SHE IS DOING

Well, Chloe did this at first, she just need time to ajust to the new place. It got etter but if it goes on much longer I'd take her to the vet. She didn't do it for a week. It was just a day or two. I'd say go to the vet. Better safe than sorry. Good Luck and let us know how she is!

I'm sure it is nothing serious, but I would take her to the vet just to be on the safe side. Sebastian had the same problem and it was the treats that we were giving him. Let us know how she is doing in a couple of days.
