Parvo Ground Test?

I took one of my dogs to my aunt's house to see her two new puppies. One got parvo just two day after we were there. I know that my dog didn't give it to her and all my dogs have all there shots so I'm not too worried about them getting it. (Am I going to call my vet about a booster just in case fist thing tomorrow.) But what I am wondering is even if my dogs don't get sick could they the one have brought it home with him? And if so is there a test I can get to see if it did get into the house and yard? We may have puppies at our house in the future and I don't want to put them at risk.

WOW!
Good question, wish I knew more about Parvo to give an answer.

I know that your Aunt should consider never having a puppy in her house and yard, it is surely contaminated.

Hope the puppy is okay...

Your dog definitely didn't give it to him because it generally has a two week incubation period after exposure. Honestly, a lot of puppies get it at the vet because there are many puppies there getting vaccinations. There is no test for the ground... and you wouldn't know where to get a sample. Your dog could have brought it home if he had contact with feces from the infected dog... Carried it on his feet... would it be enough? Hard to say... But parvo only survives in the environment for up to 7 months, so just wait a year before getting a puppy and you should be good. And bleach kills it indoors!

my question is why would you bring you dog around pups that have parvo and why the pups that have parvo are not being treated it takes a young pup 3 days untreated to die from this make sure you dog has it shots the parvo is a fast killer and if you Aunt doesn't have the pups vacinated against parvo they will die if one has it the other will to if not vacinated. Best tell you Aunt to get the pup help, It is considered cruelty if you do not give you animals shots they need just like a child you need to give shots to them to so they don't get things. I don't know if it is cruelty if you don't give your kid shots some do and some think they shouldn't but in dogs cats and other animals they should have them it is conmsidered cruelty
