My Siberian Husky too thin
We have a 1yr and 5 mt Female husky. She is a very picky eater. We have tryed lots of differant foods in the past, hoping that she would like one better. She has pretty been on Eukabuna puppy food that has great protein lvls in it. The only thing is she is so skinny, you can see her ribs poking out when shes standing. The vet said shes a little thin but not to worry. When she eats she only eats a few pieces of food then plays. Just wondering if anyone elses huskies are like this, and what food do you feed it.

I don't have a husky, but my dog Teddy was rail thin when I got him. He too is picky and often wouldn't eat his food at all. I now feed all my dogs home prepared dog food. I use human grade meat that I find on sale, and prepare it myself. He has never went another day without eating. He loves it, I love knowing they are happy with their food, and I love knowing everything that goes in it. Takes the guesswork out of wondering what kind of by products and fillers have been added.
I find turkey as little as 39 cents a lb, bake it peel it off the bone and freeze it till ready to be eaten. I buy chicken breast when it is real cheap and boil it. I find marbled roast when it is between .99 to 1.39 a lb. I don't cook the roast. I give it to them in chunks, as it has an enzyme in it that is great for teeth and breath if given raw. Again, they love it!!!
Works for us, might work for your husky?

Your dog needs to switch to an adult food formula. By the time they reach 1 year, they are supposed to be off of the puppy food. I also have to reccomend switching to a higher quality kibble so your Husky us healthier.
Once you do switch foods, feed the reccomended amount that you will most likely find on the back of the package. If you do not notice any weight gain, give her a tad more food than suggested on the package. If you still notice no weight gain, I would take her to the vet, as this might be a health issue. Tell the veternarian what you have been feeding, how much and how you have noticed no weight gain whatsoever.
I am glad that you are concerned. Remember that your supposed to be able to feel your dogs ribs, but not see them. Good luck and please paw mail me if you have any more questions or need suggestions about anything.

My younger son's best buddy has a 4 year old Pug. Until this past winter the Pug was skinny, unheard of with Pugs! His ribs showed his fur was sorry looking and he shed a lot. He did not seem to like his Kibbles and Bits and was stealing the cat food all the time. Cat food made from real meat and fish.
We told them we feed Blue Buffalo and home cooked, they tried some BB. Not only does he like it and eat it, but he looks great. He has a nice coat, is a normal weight and stopped stealing cat food. He breaths better and stopped snoring as much.
They realized it was not "picky". His food made him sick to his stomach.
Corn meal, sorghum, and brewers rice are lousy foods for a dog. At close to 18 months old she should be eating a dog, not puppy food.
Try a gradual switch to Blue Buffalo with Lamb so you are getting her off the chicken. Dogs can be allergic to Beef and chicken as well as grains.
Add a spoonful of plain cultured yogurt to help digestion and flavor.
