My mini daschund throws up after she eats why??
Hi all, well my 2.5 year old mini daschund started throwing up about 12 days ago only after she eats. It comes up immed. after she eats within seconds. She is perfectly fine otherwise and even after she throws up she goes back to finish her food. When she throws up naturally the food is not digested cause its within seconds. I took her to the vet and she checked her for pancretitis and obstruction and both came back negative. She did have a fever, inflammation and thickening in the stomach, but said that was probably because she was throwing up. She diagnosised her with gastritis and put her on amoxicillin and pepcid ac 2 times a day for each. She did have her on hills presciption i/d diet but she stopped eating it when she found her antibotic tucked inside a piece of food. SO I put her back on her on food which is Innova small bites. I only have been giving her 1/8 of a cup 2-3 day and she is fine with that anything more and she will throw it up immed. whats up?

she may be eating to fast.don't stand next to her while she eats.she may think your going to take the food away whitch causes her to eat fast.but if that dosen't work try switching dog food(some dogs have food alleriges)

I have heard of this happening before..usually due to food allergies. You might just want to try getting some different foods and seeing if anything works better. Or give her some boiled beef and rice :) mix some of that in with her food and it will settle her stomach and hopefully build her appetite back up to the point she can eat regularly again.

you might be feeding your dog to much dog food. sometimes if they have more food in their bowl than they can eat, they don't want any thing to get it, they just eat it no matter how full they are. but if that doesn't work i would suggest trying a different type of food. or taking her to the vet. good luck :)
