my Guinea pig died. and i wanna know the reason. please help :(

my guinea pig just died a while ago. but before he died, i put him close to our puppy. and then the puppy lick him. but when i put him back in his cage, he was dying. is there anything to do with the dog? scared or what? :(( so sad

could of been just fear related. Small mammals can be overwhelmed and die

Small mammals can die from fear or stress... if your guinea pig was terribly frightened of the dog then he could have been upset enough to suffer a heart attack or something like that, but... unless the dog actually bit the GP or injured it in some other way it is hard to say what could have happened. I have seen rabbits die from fright when a dog was brought to close to them so I suspect it could/would also happen with a guinea pig. Don't forget, most small mammals consider dogs as something that is trying to eat them so of course it would be terribly frightening for the small mammal to have a dog that close to them.
