It sounds like you may have used human medication on your dog and, if so, that's not a good idea. First of all, thankfully, head lice are species-specific, meaning they only like, and are transported by, human heads. Human head lice can only live a very short time off a head, and will not cling to the coarser hairs of a dog. However, do vacuum the dog's bedding well, and your upholstered furniture, and definitely any carpets in your home. I would truly suggest that you seek professional help from a reputable groomer or your vet to find out what pesky pest is really on your pet.
