My Chihuahua will not stop going to the bathroom in her crate. How do I make her stop? I thought about buying a play pen

What size is her crate? With most dogs if they have enough room to pee on one side and lay on the other it doesn't help them. Find a smaller crate that she can lay/stand in comfortably but if she pees she will have to lay in it. Dog's do not like to lay in their on urine/feces and will catch on quickly.

How often do you take her out? She's only 3 months old. Dogs don't start to have regular potty control until they are between 4 and 6 months old depending on the dog. She needs to go out often. After waking up, after eating, after playing, and a few times in between. When we got Koby, his last potty break was at 10 or 11 at night. Then he got up between 4 and 5 in the morning to go out. You can take her water away after 7pm unless it's hot outside. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

if she has room in her crate to go to bathroom on one side and lay on the other, then it is probably too big. if that is the case you may want to try to find a divider to make it smaller.
