My 11 yr old Lhasa Apso wakes up at 5am every morning whining & digging in his crate. How can I get him to sleep?
He has been doing this for about 6 months. He has had Sr.Wellness exams and passes. How can I get him to sleep thru the night? I have to work and cannot be home during the day to tire him out.

At 11 years of age, he may not have the bladder he used to. I don't think it's a matter of exercise, but it may be he'd is eating and drinking too late in the evening and needs to go out to toilet later at night.
Ask your Vet if there is anything that might help.
Consider training the dog on an indoor potty patch.
