Quetsicotial

Mom's fostering a Chi, needs help in mellowing, maybe?

She seems to have become comfortable with my parents and Grandmother in her wheelchair, after only two days. But now she is constantly trying to snap at me! Quetsicotial (Quetsy)is a LOVER NOT a Fighter! Both of us are fixed, and besides I'm a gentleman! She came from a cancer patient who passed. She has to become more social to keep her alive. She is also showing aggresion around her food and sleeping quarters. She is really cute, delicate and little, please help soonest. I'm trying to avoid her and be a good hosts, but mom needs help. Mom has Never had this kind of trouble putting animals together. The aggresion started as she became more comfortable around my family. That's when she started trying to bite me too!

IM SO SORRY YOUR HAVING PROBLEMS WITH YOUR NEW FRIEND.
MAYBE SHE IS SENSING THE PASSING OF HER PAST OWNER, AND MAY BE A BIT CONFUSED. HAVING TO MOVE TO A NEW HOME, NEW PEOPLE,NEW 4-LEGGED FRIENDS. AND SINCE SHE ISNT SNAPPING AT THE HUMANS, SHE IS GETTING USE TO THEM, BUT FEELS THREATENED BY YOU. SHE DOESNT WANT TO LOOSE WHAT SHE HAS NOW, NEW FAMILY, NEW BED, NEW FOOD, NEW TOYS..... SHE WAS PROBABLY AN ONLY CHILD AT HER OTHER HOME, SO SHE WANTS THAT NOW TOO.
WHAT WE HAVE HAD TO DO WITH OUR 2 CHIHUHUAS IS WHEN HAYLEE (THE BABY- AND NEWEST ADDITION) BECOMES AGGRESSIVE TOWARDS HERBIE I MAKE A LOUD NOISE, KINDA LIKE A GAME SHOW WRONG ANSWER BUZZER. AND THAT IS VERY ANNOYING TO HAYLEE AND SHE HAS LEARNED THAT THIS NOISE IS BAD,SO SHE STOPS WHAT SHE IS DOING. ALSO WATER BOTTLE TRAINING. KEEP A WATER BOTTLE HANDY AND KEEP IT ON STREAM, AND WHEN SHE STARTS GETTING AGGRESSIVE, SQUIRT HER! THIS IS HARMLESS, AND SHE HOPEFULLY WONT LIKE IT.
GOOD LUCK
MOMMIE STEPH,HERBIE AND HAYLEE

I agree with Herbie but it's also important to praise her when she is being good. Let her spend more time down with Quetsy instead of up on a lap or in someone's arms, as this gives her the feeling of being superior because she is so much higher and above Q. When she snaps give her a loud UH UH to let her know it's not acceptable and a squirt with the water. It may take time for her to settle in but stopping this behavior now is important. Also, a great Cesar Millan trick is to walk the dogs together so they can form a bond. Good Luck.

Miss Buddie

Chis are little but they want to be the dominant dog. Plus they are very protective of their people. Add to that the stress of a new situation and you can see why she's acting out. She's feeling very insecure.
