Making your own sled dog racing/pulling harness?

We have 2 SIberian Huskies, 1 male, 1 female. Both fixed. We live in New Zealand, and never get snow where we live, but are hoping to move to a new town where we will be cloer to snow. Anyway, my husband has made a scooter which we can hook the 2 dogs up to. We just go up and down the road at the moment as they are just getting the hang of it, and are hooked up to their collars. That's not idea though. Is there a good pattern for a harness that we could make? Is that safe? We have access to industrial sewing machine if that makes a difference. Thanks

there is a nice doggie in the german shepherd forum who pulls with his dogs and can give you some advice I don't know if he makes his own, just post this in our section he will see it.
