boil some squash and potato, smash them
add boiled chicken meat cut to pieces
add boiled rice or small pieces of bread moistened with the chicken stew
important to put stew in refrig. to make any fat get to top and remove it.
you can give skimmed yougurt as well
previous poster's recipe- bad idea. Dogs need calcium in their diet, they need to eat bones or have supplements added. An inadequate homemade diet can be worse for dogs than the cheapest yucky commercial foods!
Have you looked into raw diets? Many German Shepherd kennels (working and show) feed a raw food diet based on raw meat. They need the protein of a meat-based diet, and digest it better raw. Here is my favorite website regarding homemade diets:
And some others:
leerburg.com on raw feeding
(this a German Shepherd specific web site to boot)
Dogster's own Raw Food forum is great!
(yes, these are the right links. Dogster cuts off most of it for some reason, but it still works.)

Home made diets can be very involved and not always provide all the requirements needed. I understand raw diets can do very well with stomach issues, go to the raw forum for more info. I would also suggest Wysong products. Check them out and talk to one of their nutrition people on staff. I have had wonderful results with them.
