Isabelle RIP

Isabelle has a very swollen liver and is tired all the time.

We took her to the vet yesterday and they did an X-ray. It showed her liver was twice the size it should be and is crushing her stomach. They did blood work and her liver enzymes were high but not alarmingly high. They are going to do exploratory surgery on Monday to try to figure out what is going on.
Does anyone know what it might be?

Liver enlargement can be caused by a myriad of conditions, from infection, abnormal blood flow, abnormal bile flow, cancers, toxins etc. Elevated enzymes just indicate liver "problems" and cant actually itentify the cause of the liver "problems" Sometimes even a biopsy cant do this, but an exploratory laparotomy and biopsy is the best way to try and identify the cause. The level of liver enzyme elevation is also not neccesarily an indication of the seriousness of the disease process in liver disease.
