Actually chocolate is a minor problem requiring a much higher dose than grapes and raisins or Xylitol, an artificial sweetener most commonly found in sugarless gums.

This link has been posted here recently and may be a fairly good list, www.peteducation.com You do need to be cautious about any site you don't know who is behind it. Any kook with an agenda can put up a website the looks good.

I copied this from
www.drsfostersmith.com

They have some really good articles that you can look at!
***********************************************
"Many human foods can cause problems for pets. Chocolate, onions, alcohol, and foods high in fat, sugar, or salt can be very harmful. Chocolate, coffee, and tea all contain dangerous components called "xanthines," which cause nervous system or urinary system damage and heart muscle stimulation. Problems from ingestion of chocolate range from diarrhea to seizures and death. All chocolate, fudge, and other candy should be placed out of your dog's reach. Grapes and raisins contain an unknown toxin, which can damage the kidneys.

Tobacco products, including nicotine gum and patches, contain substances that can be toxic or fatal to dogs.

Chicken bones, plastic food wrap, coffee grounds, meat trimmings, the string from a roast – all pose a potential hazard. "

Peteducation is a good site, I often go there to do research for new articles. However I usually find their toxic food list "All Inclusive", which I guess is good for more caution.

However the following link is contains a list of some of the most common foods that dogs shouldn't eat, it also describes whats in the food, symptoms, notes, and what you should do. Much of the information there comes from vet sites too. Right below it you'll find a list of plants that your dog should never eat and that comes from the Dog Owner’s Home Veterinary Handbook. Enjoy!

Chocolate

go with the list from pet education. The only thing you can ignore is the raw egg thing. Raw eggs are fine as long as dogs consume with yolk, since it's boiton content offsets the avidin in whites. or better yet, discard whites and feed yolk only.
