No do not feed your dog cat food. It isn't a big issue if a dog gets into a bowl of cat food one time....it wont hurt them although they may have the runs afterwards. But do not feed it all the time.
Dogs have different nutritional needs then cats therefore their food is different.
Continue feeding the wet food to your dog if he cannot chew dry food. Also what you can try is mixing the dry DOG food up with some warm water, that will soften it up....the longer you let in sit in the water, the softer it will get.
But please do not feed your dog cat food

Do not feed your dog cat food. Dog food and cat food have different benefits form one another. You can give your dog wet food. And also you can mix wet with a bit of dry. You can let it sit, the wet food will warm up a bit( once it comes out of the fridge) and the dry food may soften.

Actually, cat food is perfectly fine for dogs to eat! It has a much higher protein content than dog food which does need to be considered. The problem comes from cats eating dog food, not the other way around, and that problem is due to the higher requirements for taurine in cats. Excess taurine in the cat food will not harm a dog but cats must have this taurine and therefore cannot utilize dog food.
As a general rule, cat food is quite a bit more expensive than dog food due to the higher protein levels.
In our boarding kennel we often use cat food for dogs who are recovering from sickness or surgery and reluctant to eat, or for those who just plain don't eat when away from home.
I have toy poodles and have always added dry cat food to their dry dog food when they are pregnant or nursing puppies. The only problem I have ever had is a bit of loose stools if they eat too much cat food since it is richer.
