No, it's not. Rawhide is not a safe substance to give to your dog whatsoever. Rawhide is hard for dogs to digest. Rawhide is a choking hazard as well and many dogs have choked to death from eating rawhide. I wouldn't risk giving a dog rawhide.

Instead, feed him raw meaty bones. Raw meaty bones have health benefits and also clean the teeth and freshen the breath. Raw meaty bones are a hit at our house, the dogs love them. Raw meaty bones are the safest and most efficient bones you can give.

I agree, rawhides should not be given to any dog. They cause more problems with digestion and other problems to the point it is not worth the risk.
