YES IT CAN HAPPEN. TO MALES AND FEMALES. ITS PROBABLY NOT A SEXUAL THING, ITS SHOWING HOW IS BOSS.

Yes, it's normal, as in there is nothing to be concerned about other than the fact that he's showing dominance. It's not sexual or anything like that. Puppies do this to each other, and objects, humans, etc. Please don't let him hump you, as he is NOT your boss and you need to establish your role as his leader. Some dogs hump, others don't, but it sounds like you have a fairly dominant pup (or one that wants to be) so, you should nip it in the bud before you run into other behavioral problems.

Your dog is 6 weeks - I am suspect of throwing the dominance phrase into this at such a young age.

Sexual, dominance, and just plain old play are the 3 main reasons for humping behavior. A great deal of dogs hump to initiate play, or when they get excited during play, or just because they think it's fun. In a 6 week old puppy I'd be most inclined to say he is just getting excited and playful. Just remove your leg or foot and correct him - eventually he'll get the idea.

Yes. It's does not have anything to do with mating. Humping is used for dominance too. They want to see how you and other people and dogs will react to it.
