The blue mutation (D locus) is present in pit bull types of dogs, so it is possible that you are pure. No guarantee, though, as it is also present in other breeds. Color is often a good indicator of breeds, but doesn't always answer the question. Build, physical characteristics, and temperament are often more reliable at determining breed or mix.

"Pit bull" is a generic term used to describe a type of dog, not one specific breed. The term "pit bull" usually refers to the American Staffordshire Terrier(AKC), the American Pit Bull Terrier(UKC), the Staffordshire Bull Terrier(both), and any dog resembling one of these breeds, including mixed breeds. Any of those breeds can be blue, but blue dogs are not their own separate breed.

There are DNA tests, but I'm not sure if any include these breeds or how accurate they are. The only other way to know for sure would be to go to the breeder and ask to see the dog's pedigree, assuming the breeder is reputable and you trust that the paperwork they show you is accurate. Again though, "blue pit bull" is not a breed - they would be one of the three breeds listed above, regardless of what color they are.

Unless you were planning to participate in conformation shows with your dog, it really doesn't matter if he is purebred or not.

Have fun with your dog!

Dieta

Blue is a color.
It can be a muted gene in pool.
Then people take the dogs with the muted gene and breed them together producing more of the color. Doesn't mean all the pups will be blue but more of the color can show up.
The color blue does not ensure the dog is pure pitbull. And that does not mean the dog is not pure also.
If you don't know exactly who the entire pedigreed is then there is no way of knowing if the dog is mixed, hope that made sense.
The dog is pretty by the way.

Pit bulls come in a lot of colors, including blue. Blue is the diluted gene for black. Blue is becoming a more popular color, because it is so pretty. You look like a pit bull, so you most likely are all pit bull.

Daddy

American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and Staffordshire Terriers can all come in blue. Your dog almost looks like an American Pit Bull Terrier/Staffordshire Bull Terrier or American Bulldog mix based on his head and face. He's an adorable dog though either way.

Toxic

Somewhere in the lineage there must be an AmStaff, as they carry the blue gene.
