I have a 8 moth old puggle. How do you stop the barking and whining while in a crate at night.

Completely ignore him and he'll eventually figure out that whining gets him nowhere. It works, I've done it before.

I agree with Gray Dawn Treader, ignore. Have you tried playing with him before you put him in his crate? Play with him for 15-30 minutes before you put him in his crate, it will wear him out and he just may whine less or not whine at all! He may be whining because he needs to go potty. Take him outside for 5-10 minutes before putting him in his crate.
