Deogie only gets bathed a couple times of year but gets brushed daily. He also gets a ear wipe (I use baby wipes to gentle wipe the inside ear down but don't insert finger into the ear canal, face wash (warm wash cloth) and teeth cleaning as part of his daily routine. His nails get checked weekly at the vets and clipped when needed, his dewclaws need more attention than his regular claws. His behind will get a wash down about once a week, which he hates.
Even short haired dogs should be brushed at least weekly to get those natural oils distributed through the coat, it's great for the skin.
I love brushing Deogie it allows me to check for lumps, bumps or any cuts that may need attention.
Have a good one.

Most dogs - particularly short-haired dogs like yours - don't need to be professionally groomed. You may want to bathe him, but it isn't necessary very frequently. Of course, a nice massage is always appreciated!

Deogie is smart to check for lumps bumps and other things that go on under the coat that you don't see as easily.

I don't bathe Jack more than once a month, max. He's a fairly clean guy and unless he's been playing with some stinkers, he stays clean enough that he doesn't have an odor and by bathing him that often seems to be a good balance for his skin and coat health.

Just a side note in case someone archives this question who has a puppy....Puppies younger than five months should not be bathed, and if they are bathed, they need to be kept warm and dried immediately and thoroughly, but not with a dryer or heat.
