How much will it cost to get puppy's shots?
My Shih Tzu just had puppies this morning and I was wondering how much it would cost to get their shots.

depending on how big they will be when you give them shots. what type of shots you give them also. you can also go onto the enternet and get some of the research as well. Your puppy will need 4 sets of shots until he's 4 months old. A set every 3 to 4 weeks. It costs about $45 each time. At 4 months he will then get his Rabies for the first time as well. Then he'll need a booster when he turns a year old. Then boosters every year after that and rabies booster every 3 to 5 years. Sometimes some pet stores offer a low cost shot clinic for about $15.

If these pups were just born you have a very long way to go and lots of other expenses before you begin to think about their shots. They cannot have their first vaccinations until they are 8 or 9 weeks old and that price will vary depending on the vets in your area. Right now you need to be worrying about a post-whelping exam for the mother and her puppies to make sure they are alright and the mother doesn't have any retained afterbirths or other problems which could kill her and the newborn babies. Next will be getting the pups their first exams and worming, somewhere around 4 weeks, followed by continuing the worming until their vaccinations and health exams prior to leaving your home at around 9 weeks of age.
good luck with them!
look at petco, they usually have a vaccine clinic. Also if you check with your local shelter they may have a vaccine clinic or have a vet that they can send you to with vaccine clinics. Good luck with the puppies.

depends on what you want and how many. rabies, others, and OH, you also have heart worming and neuter or spay.it costs more than forty five dollars, including the food they give.
I know this is an old question, but just wanted to offer some info for anyone else who might need it.
You can buy the vaccinations and administer them yourself for about seven dollars a shot. I work with a rescue and have had to vaccinate lots and lots of puppies. This method has really saved us a lot of money. At four months your vet will have to do the rabies vaccine. I usually get pups fixed and get their rabies at the same time.
You can buy shots at a lot of farm stores and, of course, you can order them online. Just make sure they come for a reputable site. You need to use two day or one day shipping. The shots should be cold when you get them. A good site will send them with ice packs. If they don't, don't order from them again and don't use those shots.
You can also find videos online to guide you through your first vaccinating experience. Hope this was helpful.
