Dogs do not depreciate over the years. Would you place a dollar value on your child? In the eyes of the law, dogs are property, and as such, will be assigned a dollar value according to replacement cost. No true dog lover would even think about a dog as an investment...unless you are a reputable breeder & the dog is a prized stud. If so, a lawyer would advise you on the potential for "lost income" if the dog is injured by someone & can no longer be used.
