The gestation period (amount of time they're pregnant) for dogs is generally around 9 weeks, or about 63 days. However, you can have puppies as soon as 58 days or as late as 68 days - it varies just like it does with people.
If you're asking how long the actual birth takes, that also varies. The first stage of birth is going into labor. Your dog will become restless and nervous. She may try to hide and may refuse all food. This stage can be as quick as 6 hours, but also take as long as a day. The second stage is when she starts having contractions and giving birth. This usually takes only a few minutes per pup, and pups are often born pretty soon after one another. Sometimes, the "resting stage" between pups can take 10 to 30 minutes or even longer.
