It's been a while since before I had DogsterPlus (the pictures are managed a bit differently with Plus), but what I can remember is:
go to profile page > click "edit profile" > select "manage photos" (or something like that) > select the one you want to be the main pic > and scroll down to the save button
It may have changed since I last saw it, though.
