How difficult is it to get a Siberian Husky to switch to a prey model diet. Is a prey model diet really good for her?

My siberian husky is about 1 year 10 months, recently adopted. She was on kibble at the rescue, but I wanted to switch her to a raw diet, however she doesn't seem to have any interest in the chicken I'm trying to feed her. She won't eat it unless I hand feed her and even then it's a challenge to get her to eat it. Worried, I took her to the vet and he said that a raw diet is not good for domesticated dogs.

There is a lot of help on the raw forum and they can also suggest some other links and yahoo groups. Normal vets education is funded by these dog food companies so they are quite bias as sick pets keep them in business. Holistic vets usually enthusiastically recommend a balanced home cooked or raw diet.
I feed raw prey model and I can really see the huge difference in my pup. Unfortunately for my pocketbook, my pup just doesn't like raw chicken. *shrugs* There are plenty of other sources of meat, organs and bone he loves to eat. :)

Most vets will tell you that. Keep in mind that what nutrition education they get is funded by the companies that manufacture commercial dog food. Vets are good for medicine and stuff--but most of them don't learn much about nutrition.
I've been feeding raw for four years now and I'm still feeding it because it works and my dog is in good health. Dogs may be domesticated, but they still have that carnivorous digestive system.

And yeah--some dogs aren't too enthusiastic about eating raw meat. There are a few tricks others could share that may help.

But before starting, I'd recommend doing some research. Feeding a balanced raw diet isn't difficult, but if you don't know what you're doing things CAN go wrong.
I'd recommend starting here: www.dogster.com
And post a thread in the raw forum. You'll be able to have some back-and-forth discussion that way.
