Keep her indoors, only take her out on leash for walks and potty breaks. Males will smell her from a mile away and come running, you don't want an accidental pregnancy. Watch her for escape attempts, some females are sneaky like that.
Some females will lick themselves and keep clean, others bleed all over the place. Confine her to an easy-to-clean place like the bathroom, or use dog panties (like this one: www.amazon.com )
Don't allow her free access to the outdoors or let her play with intact male dogs until at least 2 weeks after the vaginal discharge stops, you can never be too careful.
