How can a 2 yr bitch(spoiled) get along with a 3 mon. bitch?

I have a 2 year old female mix and she is VERY diva and spoiled, I am currently taking care of a 3 month old Schnauzer. The older one growls and doesn't wanna play but she has played before with other dogs but they were males. I will be having the pup for a while, and I wanted tips to get these two together. My older one also gets very nervous and stops eating becuase she is somewhat afraid. I don;t understand why she is getting like this with her and not with the other male dogs she has played before. I wanted some tips on how to smoothly have them spend time together without my old one attacking the pup.
