Have GSD, do they do well with Irish Setters

My German Shepherd is 2 yrs old, spayed female, totally non-aggressive, thinks our cat is a smaller version of her, but just like having 2 dogs for their companionship or would it be better to get another GSD

Setters are a great family dog. If your dog is well socialized, getting an Irish should not be a problem at all. However, if you do not have a lot of space, there could be territoriality issues that come up when you introduce ANY new dog. I always suggest bringing in a younger, spayed/neutered friend to avoid same-gender domance issues within the home. happy Howli-days ^_^

Yes, they do as long as introduction is properly done and they are being treated equally to prevent jealousy.

Dogs aren't exactly aware of what breed they are, you know... I've seen Labradors ("super nice" breeds) be absolute jerks and hate other dogs, and I've seen Bullies ("aggressive" breed) be absolute sweeties.

If you're a good stable pack leader, and the dogs have had proper socialization when young, it should be fine. Introductions should be made slowly and in calm, quiet environments.

Best wishes!
