First Heat Cycle Late?

Hello, I am a purebred papered Boxer named Lucey. I am currently 10 months old and has not started or shown any signs of starting my first heat cycle. I understand all female doggies are different, but is it normal for females to start very late? (My mommy has already had a custom made kennel built for me when I do start, so I can be separated from the other pets)

I'm told some dogs get it as late as two years. Keep a sharp lookout, sometimes the heat cycle can be very subtle.

Almost all of my labs never had their first heat until 14 to 18 months of age. Even my 5 lb toy poodles usually start about 12 to 14 months old. It is totally variable, but normally happens before the age of two.
