Hey there, glad you are interested in training your dog. I think training is the best thing you can do for dogs, of any breed, especially stigmatized ones like pitties. It really helps their public image.

The good news is, you don't need a pitbull-specific trainer. Any trainer worth their salt should be able to work with you, pitbulls learn the same way as other dogs.

If you Google search "dog trainer Lees Summit MO" in the maps section, you get a lot of choices. I can't guarantee all of those places are GOOD trainers, you'd have to find that out yourself.

Also, if you know of any pet supply stores (map says you have a PETCO in Lees Summit), they often offer training classes, or know about local trainers in the area. Try hitting them up to find trainers that aren't in the Google search or yellow pages.
