Dog yelps then throws up, what's wrong?

My Brussels Griffon (11yo) hasn't been too excited about eating the past day or two. Today we came home and found 2 piles of throw up...mostly yellow bile, but some chicken (we had given her for breakfast) and some grass.

Then she started yelping and it almost looked like she was trying to curl up in the fetal position, then she vomited again. We calmed her down and after about 30 minutes, it happened again...yelping followed by vomiting.

She seems to be drinking alot of water tonight too.

Anyone seen this before?

Dogs normally throw up bile when they have an empty stomach. I am not sure why she would be yelping. She may have something stuck in her esophagus that is causing her to yelp. I would take her to a vet asap. Its not a good sign that she is doing it multiple times.

Let us know what the vet says.
She will be in our thoughts. Sorry we couldn't have been of any better help.

SUNSHINE

sounds like she ate something that is "stuck" either in her throat or digestive system, she's eating grass to try to get it up (vomit it up). Get her to a vet. Rawhide chews could be the culprit here. Toys with eyes or squeakers or bones could also cause problems. Nails, tacks, staples or aluminum foil that you cooked or wrapped food with are all possibilities she may have gotten. Dogs can and will ingest some pretty strange things,
Rawhide chews or toys are not allowed here, my boy Flash woke me one night choking, in desperation I put my fingers down his throat...and pulled out a BIG soggy piece of a rawhide chew. NEVER again. Had it happened while I was out, maybe I'd have lost him. What he had bitten off earlier in the day settled in his stomach and upset it, swelling as it sat in his digestive fluids. While trying to vomit it up (dogs vomit at will) it became lodged in his throat. Nobody will EVER get rawhide chews/toys here again. Pigs ears, I think are a better choice,

Dieta

If this has been going on you may want to have the vet do x-ray of her body to see if there is blockage.

A dog not being able to hold anything down could possibly have a blockage and this is important to find out so it does not cause more and more complications.
Or it could be the food I would try the vet first.
