Dog vomits white foam on walks
My two year old dog would consistently vomit white foam whilst out on a walk. After seeing two different vets he'd undergone exploratory surgery, treatment for helocobacter, liver tests, different feeding times, different foods etc. all without success.
Eventually I noticed that it wasn't the exercise which brought on his sickness as he could run and play for an extended length of time at a raised level of excitement without vomiting. However, my dog would sniff everything (as dogs do) and would salivate throughout the walk. If he met a girl dog in heat he would vomit instantly. Likewise with a virile young male.
This led me to believe that he was reacting in some way to hormones or pheremones in dog scent. The onset of his vomiting had coincided with his maturing a couple of months before his 1st birthday. With reluctance I had him castrated. 2 weeks on and he hasn't vomited. So, when nothing else works, trust your instinct!
Hope this helps someone else.
