Shampoo can expire, but they don't necessarily put an expiration date on the bottle. Most likely, the active ingredients in it will still work, just not to the same strength as a fresh bottle would. Try it out and if it works great and if it doesn't, toss it and buy another. You can even write on the new bottle the date you purchased with sharpie so you know down the road how old it is.
