You better believe I brush my dog's teeth! You brush your teeth no matter what you eat, right? Why wouldn't you brush your dog's teeth? It only takes a few minutes a day to brush. Do it at the same time you do yours. Chews, treats, special diets, etc. only remove so much bacteria and plaque. Without proper dental hygiene, plaque and bacteria that you cannot see can eventaully lead to bad breath, gum disease, and other oral problems. If a dog's teeth are NOT taken care of properly, other health issues will arise such as heart disease and even death. The same things that can happen to us when we don't take care of our teeth can happen to your dog. Do you want to spend thousands of dollars in tooth extractions, dental visits, and other oral-related illnesses that could have been prevented? There are dental cleansing pads, mouthwashes, and other products that help with oral care. Talk to your vet about what would be best for your pup. His life depends on you.
