Do you think Kong Stuff'N treats are healthy for dogs?

I recently bought those long soft, Kong Stuff'N treats for my dogs Kongs. They have red meatish looking stuff on the inside. Is this healthy for them? Should I just stick with filling them with Peanut Butter or putting treats/kibble inside?

I don't think they are particularly healthy. But if you want to feed them as treats, I don't think they'll seriously harm the dog, either.

I usually put peanut butter (which can be very fatty, so be careful, otherwise it's just as unhealthy) or some canned food and a few pieces of kibble or my regular treats into activity toys.

I did once use that cheese whiz-esque canned Kong paste to decorate a doggie birthday cake I'd made. But that was just one day out of the entire year. It makes good "frosting" writing though, that's for sure!

Dieta

No.
I have put PB in one for Bridget.
Dieta loves them as they are rubbery :)
I think just using your own stuff like chicken, turkey, ham, ground meat. Stuff like that is good.

I would highly recommend you use something else. Kong Stuff 'N is a horrible product. I'm going to pick out one of them to show you the ingredients in one.

KONG Stuff’N Peanut Butter Paste:

Whey, Soybean Oil, Water, Milk, Dextrose
Maltodextrin, Modified Corn Starch, Sodium Phosphate
Salt, Carrageenan, Guar Gum, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Lactic Acid, Caramel Color, Annatto Extract (Color), Cheese Cultures, Rennet

As you can see, it is full with junk.

Good foods to use in Kongs:

Peanut Butter
Yogurt
Cream cheese
Cheese
Dog treats
Soft dog food
Meat
Fruits/vegetables

You can pretty much use anything in the Kong! I freeze my Kong.

No treat is anything that you want to feed your dog all the time. Your question is sort of like saying, "Is a cupcake healthy or should I have some ice cream?" True, the peanut butter might be a bit better, but really, there's not much of a difference. You don't want to feed your dog too much of any treat. That's not healthy. You can search around to find dog treat recipes that are healthier; there are tons of them! The treats don't really matter as much as if you're feeding your dog good food. I hope you solve your problem!

Treats are just that treats and should be given in moderation. But if you want to give your dog healthy treats, then give him 100% Natural Homemade Dog Treats that contains no preservatives, salt or granulated sugars. Check out Aunt Martha's Canine Kitchen on the web, they are a gourmet dog bakery that specializes in 100% Natural treats.

Many dog treats are filled with artificial things. I would even make my own treats and put them in there. Just stick with using peanut butter and treats. They're safer and cheaper. :)
