Chihuahua is "paralyzed" after being mauled by large dog. Has anyone had that experience?

Last night my 6 year old, 5 lb chihuahua was mauled by an 80 lb dog. Managed to get him out of the other dog's mouth after being shaken for fifteen seconds or so. There was no blood. Went to vet immediately. X-rays showed no broken bones. There is no internal bleeding. He is somewhat lucid (he'll lick my face) but he has not moved since the attack. He rests on his side, whining occasionally in pain. He's on Rimadyl, Gabapentin (13 ml), and amoxicillin. I got him to eat some yogurt and drink some water through a syringe. No other movement now for 24 hours. Next step MRI. Has anyone had a similar experience?

He could be in shock? I'd be pretty freaked out too if someone 16 times my size whipped me around for what must have seemed like forever. I hope he is ok. Could have hurt his spine. Sorry wish I knew the answer but I would just go to the next step if you don't see a change soon.
