Hookworm larvae can enter human skin...it is a real problem where kids run barefoot in yards where dogs with hookworm defecate. Also, roundworms can be passed to humans if the eggs are ingested. In humans, the larvae usually migrate to the eyes. This is why it is especially important to make sure children wash their hands after handling puppies, and to make sure dog feces are cleaned up promptly.
