CAN GIVING A 4 WEEK OLD BULLDOG PUPPY A NEOPAR VACCINE CAUSE AN ENLARGED HEART?
Had a litter of seven english bulldog puppies. Gave the Neopar vaccine a four weeks of age as suggested by other breeders. Seemed days afterward one of the pups started very rapid breathing and sounded congested and not playing as much. Has since been found to have an enlarged heart by xray. Am giving Lasix twice a day. Too early to tell if working. Can you answer this question asap. Thanks

A good breeder would take them to the vet ASAP.
Bully breeds can have genetic heart issues. I lost my "big guy" at the young age of 3 for an enlarged heart. Probably from birth, and was not detected all along. I have seen Boxers drop at not even a year old. Out of breath just from walking across the room. Sometimes, certain breeds are predisposed to heart ailments. It may not have been the vaccine.
ONLY vaccine I have EVER given my pups when under 6 weeks old is Parvo only. Then, move up to full vaccine series..minus Lepto. Personal preference for me, and my own experiences over 25 years.
Future suggestion.....give a Parvo ONLY vaccine if under 6 weeks old. I was never comfortable with cramming a bunch of different vaccines in a pup any younger than 6 weeks old. That is a LOT for their little system to fight off, and if allergic to any specific vaccine, how does a person know what one if given a 7-way?
Just my opinion.
Good luck with your pudgy fun kid! Enjoy each day with your fur baby, ok.
