Blue Buffalo Vs Wellness puppy foods?

I am getting a puppy next week and was wondering what people think is better blue buffalo or wellness. My other dog is on wellness and does well but I want to make sure I am doing right by my puppy. Open to suggestions :)

They are both good foods. No one food is "best" for all dogs- they all have their own preferences and tolerances.
I suggest looking at the food reviews on dogfoodanalysis.com and www.dogfoodadvisor.com for more info about brands. Dogfoodadvisor is a little less strict in what counts as a "good" food as Dogfoodanalysis, so more foods get their highest rating. (Which I think is a good thing- more to choose from.)

Keep in mind that both Blue and Wellness make multiple formulas, so they can't really be compared, it's apples to oranges. You have to compare similar products, like Wellness Core vs. Blue Wilderness (grain free high-protein) or Wellness Super 5 Mix Puppy vs Blue Buffalo Life Protection Puppy (grain-inclusive puppy foods.)

I think I would go with wellness. blue has had some problems lately with putting to much calcium in the food. I asked the district rep who was at petsmart a couple of weeks back, and he admited that it happend, but the company was not doing anything about it. Not sure I would trust anyone that does nothing about food that is making dogs sick.

Wellness is an excellent food. If I had 2 dogs I would try to keep them both on the same brand of food. Buying food for 2 dogs should allow you to buy a larger bag, saving money & getting more food in a larger bag. Owning a mastiff, is like feeding 2 dogs. I always buy the largest bag of dog food. It ends up being cheaper because I am getting more food, for less money. Hope this helps!

Wellness is a respected brand in my family, we dont buy it any more because its too exspensive in our local pet store and petco, but wellness is the best for your new pup!blue buffalo can never compete with wellness, i used to voluentere at a petstore and they were always running out of bags of wellness they always had blue buffalo barely anyone bought it and everytime i go there (which i dont do alot) i see a bunch of bags of blue buffalo and they are like out of wellness so yes wellness is the better choice
