Mr. Darcy

Anyone want to take a crack at what Mr. Darcy's made of?

I have some theories about what Mr. Darcy is, but I'm curious about your opinions. He's got a lab coat and tail, but not many of the behaviors, and while I think he's got some pit and/or boxer, he's sort of skinny. Thoughts? He's often on his hind legs, not to jump on you but just to vertically leap. He thinks he's a lap dog. Some dog aggression. Doesn't fetch or swim. Of course, a lot of this might be due to whatever he went through in the past.

Mr. Darcy looks like he does have some lab and or boxer! I don't think he has Pit in him though! Maybe someone else can come and tell ya! What ever he is he sure is so pretty! ;) Good Luck!

I saw this really neat book called "The Mutt Book" and it helps you see what your dog is made of. You may want to look into it.
I agree boxer/lab and 100% adorable!!!

Lily

Lab, Pit and Greyhound. He has Lily's curved tail, tiny waist and stands up vertically. Do his ears ever roll up into roses? She is Basenji, Greyhound and Australian Cattle Dog, it seems. They both could have multiple breeds in their backgrounds, not just 3 or 4.
His short shiny coat looks Grey, too.

I love that Mutt Book! It is really informative and fun to look through.

I agree with Lily on the Pit and Lab part, and I'm thinking she's also onto something with the Greyhound.

But, I had a dog once who had a similar physique (but not a similar head) and he was Black Lab/German Shorthair Pointer mix. He also had the flash of white on his chest and one white paw. Though, his white were closer to pointer dots than a solid white.

But, there's a strong resemblance body wise. I also think that Mr. Darcy has some Pit or Boxer in there, based on his head shape and his face.

I can see where he got his name. He's quite dashing, especially in that first picture. He looks so suave....Cute!

I honesty don't see any Lab. I see Boxer or Pit Bull and maybe a touch of Great Dane. He has a Dane head, and has a fizique like one.
Looks like a great dog. Have fun with him!

I'm thinking Great Dane and possibly Boxer and or Greyhound mix. His ears sit forward like a Boxers and he looks tall like a Dane or Greyhound, although its hard to tell from the picture. Wow does his coat ever shine, what a beautiful black he is. There are DNA test you can have done also. Just Google DNA breed tests for dogs.
