Any suggestions for washing my Shih Tzu's head when I give her a bath?

Pixie just tolerates her baths and especially hates when I wash her head, which I save for last. I'd love some suggestions for making this a more pleasant experience for her. Also, do I need to do anything special for cleaning her ears? I haven't up to this point and she's been fine. Finally, how often do you recommend trimming nails?

sounds like you are doing great job. Yeh I save the head for last.
Short nose dogs can get alot of water in their nose. My boston is terrible with his short nose. I have to use just a wash cloth and wash his face like a baby.
Nails can be trimmed when you see too much excess, all depends how much your dog gets out to walk on hard surfaces.
During the winter my boston his nails grow the most than any other, he gets 3 to 4 trims.

I own a shih tzu and experienced this problem. I bath his face with a wet wash cloth and soapy shampoo that will not burn the eyes and clean with soft tooth brush being very careful around the eye area. Wipe clean with with just wet cloth. This has worked great for my little fellow and myself.

I use a washrag for my dogs faces. I just get the rag wet and wipe there faces. Bandit gets his own face in the water but Sativa rather have her face just wiped with a rag. I don't use soap on there faces either.
