The truth is that training plays a crucial role in our pets’ development and contributes significantly to our relationship with them. But let’s face it—seeking the help of a professional dog trainer or attending classes can be especially time-consuming and expensive. Thankfully, that’s where the Woofz Dog Training App comes in!

This comprehensive review will provide you with everything you need to know about the Woofz Dog Training App, guiding you through its key features and functionality and evaluating its overall user-friendliness.

What Is Woofz Dog Training App?

woofz dog training app - explore trainings

The Woofz Training App is designed for dog owners looking for an easy way to train their pets. Developed by Woofz, a company known for innovative pet products, this app appeals to owners of dogs of all ages who want to reinforce basic obedience and teach new tricks.

The app’s simplicity makes it accessible even for first-time dog trainers. Its interactive features, like video tutorials and digital clicker sounds, engage dogs during short, positive reinforcement training sessions. Tracking your dog’s progress over time is easy with the built-in training log. One of the biggest selling points is the extensive trick library with step-by-step instructions for teaching over 75+ commands and tricks.

While this app has a lot to offer, it may not be as useful for owners of dogs with more serious behavioral issues. The essential training guidance works well for puppies and dogs without major obedience problems, but the app lacks tools to address more challenging training scenarios.

If you are a new or experienced dog owner looking for support in teaching your furry friend some fun new tricks and basic manners, the Woofz Training App has a lot going for it. The simple interface, positive reinforcement approach, and robust trick library make training engaging for dogs and owners alike. Note that if you have a dog that needs specialized behavioral therapy, you will likely need more professional help than this otherwise solid app.

Where to Get It

The Woofz Training App is available for download on both iOS and Android devices. iPhone and iPad users can download it from the App Store, while it can be found on the Google Play Store for Android phones and tablets. An internet connection is required to download and install the app, but you can use many of the features offline once downloaded.

The Woofz Training App is available for download on both iOS and Android devices. iPhone and iPad users can download it from the App Store, while it can be found on the Google Play Store for Android phones and tablets. An internet connection is required to download and install the app, but you can use many of the features offline once downloaded.

The app offers a special plan for new users when you complete the survey. First is a weekly plan for $6.99 ($0.99 per day). You can also opt for the monthly plan at $19.99 ($0.66 per day) or a 3-month plan at $29.99 ($0.33 per day). Both individual and family plans are available if you want to use the app with multiple devices.

What to Expect

Once you’ve downloaded the Woofz Training App, you can expect an intuitive, user-friendly interface designed to make training your dog easy and enjoyable. After setting up an account, you’ll be prompted to input details about your dog, like name, age, breed, and any existing behavioral issues. This customizes the experience for your dog. You will then gain access to the app’s core features, including the trick library, video tutorials, training log for tracking progress, and a virtual clicker.

The trick library contains detailed instructions broken down into small, easy-to-follow steps for teaching over 75+ commands, tricks, and skills. The video tutorials bring these instructions to life, showing real dog trainers demonstrating each trick. As you work through tricks, use the training log to mark milestones and track what your dog has mastered. To reward good behavior, use the virtual clicker, which provides the same sound feedback as a real clicker without needing the physical device. You’ll be amazed at how quickly your dog learns with regular short sessions!

Take Note: Training your pup takes time and patience. We tried plenty of tricks with our pups that we have to keep working on. And remember, that’s not a bad thing. Some tricks and skills in the app simply need to be given the space to breathe and done consistently for them to stick.

In Summary

Pros
  • Easy-to-use interface great for beginner dog trainers
  • Engaging video tutorials and clicker sounds keep dogs interested
  • Tracks training progress over time in-app training log
  • Extensive library with instructions for over 75+ tricks and commands
  • Uses positive reinforcement model for effective training
Cons
  • Not as useful for dogs with serious behavioral issues
  • Lacks tools to address more challenging training scenarios

Our Experience With Woofz Training App

dog shaking owner's hand

When we brought home our three adorable rescue puppies – Raider, Bella, and Winter – we knew we had our work cut out for us with training. While Bella and Winter took well to basic commands like sit and stay within the first few weeks, our middle pup Raider was a bit more strong-willed. We decided to try the Woofz Training App since the positive reinforcement approach seemed ideal for his personality.

We started with the introductory lessons, making training short and fun. Raider responded well to the app’s clear voice commands and clicker sounds. He picked up on simple cues like come, down and heel more quickly than expected. We attribute that early success to the app’s clear instructions and demonstrative videos. Two of Raider’s favorite tricks were “roll over” and “play dead“—we think it’s mostly because he got the best belly rubs and all the treats every time!

On the other hand, Bella was a bit more stubborn on some of the tricks we tried. She does need a bit more repetition than her siblings to master skills. The app’s tracking features helped us identify where Bella needed more practice so we could work on specific commands without boring her.

We also took advantage of Woofz’s custom training plans to tailor lessons to Bella’s energetic temperament. Their tips for keeping independent-minded dogs engaged prevented frustration on both ends.

While Bella required more patience than Raider and Winter, the Woofz app gave us the tools to work at her pace. We continue to use it for maintenance training as the puppies grow. It keeps learning productive and positivity-focused for each of our unique fur babies – especially our spirited little Kala!

While it may not suit owners seeking specialized behavioral therapy, Woofz provides most pet parents with the guidance and tools needed to improve their dog’s skills and deepen the pet-owner bond. Overall, the Woofz Training App is a top-notch option for at-home dog training.

  1. I found this app completely unhelpful in trying to get my dog to not pull on our walks. Furthermore, they trick you into an annual subscription – no warning that you are about to be charged – and then won't provide a refund. I do not recommend this app for anyone
