How to Name Your German Shorthaired Pointer

When choosing an excellent German Shorthaired Pointer name, don’t just focus on their sex—consider your pup’s personality, too. For example, if your new pet has a regal bearing, you might want to choose a royal name like “Duchess.” If they are going to be a hunting companion, you might go with a warrior’s name like “Apollo.” Or if they’re hyper and silly, maybe something like “Gizmo” would better suit them!

Be sure to consider your taste in names, as well; don’t choose a name you hate just because it fits your animal’s personality. Finally, another way you might pick a name is to consider the color of your dog’s coat and use that as inspiration.

Whatever the name, consider all facets of your German Shorthaired Pointer’s temperament and coloring, along with any personal tastes you want to convey.
