Summer is over, which means sunny barbecues on the patio are now only a sweet memory as we bundle up and hunker down for the holidays.
As we reminisce about those long afternoons grilling out back, we think about all the times we were too comfortable in our lawn chairs to get up and fetch a cold one from the fridge after thoroughly emptying whatever cooler we had packed. We think about how great it would have been to ask the mellow family dog to run in and grab us our favorite brew from inside so we wouldn’t have to get up. Lazy, we know, but if anyone appreciates laziness, it’s a dog.
We think about how we wish we had known this particular Labrador Retriever, who dutifully gets a beer for her grateful human guardian — and even remembers to shut the fridge door. No one needs a spiked energy bill, you know?
Normally we wouldn’t trust a Hoovering Labrador in our fridge (unless we need someone to clean it out for us), but this pup seems to have self control unknown to her breed, which makes her quite possibly the most amazing dog we’ve ever met. (Well, OK, we think every dog is the most amazing dog we’ve ever met … but when summer rolls around again, we’re inviting this pooch to all our barbecues!)
