Oahu is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but unfortunately, they aren’t all accepting of dogs. This makes sense because some beaches get extremely crowded with visitors, which can cause drama and problems if multiple dogs are running around.

Luckily, there are many fabulous beaches on Oahu that you can take your dog to without worrying about breaking any laws. Here are our favorite dog-friendly beaches on Oahu.

The 10 Dog-Friendly Beaches on Oahu

1. Kuliʻouʻou Beach Park

️ Address:  100 Bay St. Honolulu, HI 96821
Open Times: 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily
Cost: Free
Off-Leash: No
  • The water here isn’t usually suitable for swimming
  • Many grassy areas are ready to explore
  • Dogs must always be leashed

2. Oneʻula Beach Park

️ Address:  91-295 Papipi Ed. Ewa Beach, HI 96706
Open Times: 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily
Cost: Free
Off-Leash: No
  • Ample parking right next to the beach
  • Family-friendly environment
  • Popular among dog owners

3. Māʻili Beach Park

️ Address:  87-21 Farrington Hwy. Waianae, HI 96792
Open Times: 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sundays and Mondays, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday

Off-Leash: No
  • The water is great for swimming year-round
  • The sand is fine and easily gets tracked by paws into cars and homes
  • The least-crowded days to visit are Monday through Friday

6. Kalama Beach Park

Open Times: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily
Cost: Free
Off-Leash: No
  • Located next to Kailua Beach, another dog-friendly location
  • Typically not crowded, even on the weekends

7. Barbers Point Beach Park

  • Not a swimming beach
